Getting started

How do I create a household?

Open Nest Days and sign in with Continue with Apple, Continue with Google or Continue with email. On Set up your nest, enter your first name and a household name, choose how you work, and tap Create household.

If you choose Shifts or rotations, Nest Days creates two templates for you, Day 7 AM – 7 PM and Night 7 PM – 7 AM, and asks you to add next week's shifts.

How do I invite my partner?

Tap Invite your partner at the top of Home, or go to Account (top-left) → Household → Invite your partner. Tap Send invite to share the 8-character code, or Copy code. A code expires after 7 days.

My partner sent me a code. How do I join?

Install Nest Days and tap I have an invite code on the welcome screen. Sign in, then on Join your partner's nest enter the code and your first name, and tap Join household.

How can I sign in?

With Apple, with Google, or with a 6-digit code sent to your email. There's no password. A code expires in 10 minutes. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder or tap Send a new code.

To add or remove a way to sign in, go to Account → Sign-in methods. You need at least one.

Shifts and events

How do I add my shifts?

Tap + on Home and choose Shifts. Pick a template, then tap the days you work and tap Save. Use Previous week and Next week to move between weeks.

What is a shift template?

A shift you save once, with a name, start and end time, and an icon. Make your own with New template in Your shifts, or edit the Day and Night templates.

How do rotations work?

In Your shifts, turn on Repeat as a rotation, set how many days on and off (for example 3 on, 4 off), and choose Repeat until. The rotation starts on the day you tapped.

How are overnight shifts shown?

With both ends, like Night 7 PM – 7 AM. When the clocks change, the shift keeps its clock times and Nest Days tells you it runs an hour longer or shorter.

Can events and tasks repeat?

Yes. Choose Every day, Every week, Every 2 weeks, Every month, Every year or Custom, and pick weekdays for weekly repeats. A repeat can end on a date or after a number of times.

How do reminders work?

Set Reminder on an event, or Remind owner on a task: at start, 10 or 30 minutes before, 1 hour before or 1 day before. Reminders are scheduled on your phone, so they ring even when you're offline. Notifications must be on.

Tasks

Who owns a task?

Every task has one owner. Choose yourself, your partner, or Leave open. Open tasks show “Needs an owner”, and anyone can tap I'll do it.

How do I ask my partner to take a task?

Set your partner as the Owner. They get a notification and can Accept or Decline it from the task. Until then, it waits for their yes.

What happens if my partner declines?

The task goes back to “Needs an owner” and keeps its time, note, repeat and reminder. You get a notification that they declined.

Sync and offline

Your schedule is on your phone, so it opens fast and reads offline. Each change shows one of three states.

StateWhat it means
Saved on this phoneNot shared yet, for example because you're offline. Nest Days shares it when you reconnect. Nothing to do.
SharedYour partner can see it.
Couldn't shareOur server didn't accept the change, for example because your partner deleted the item while you were editing it. It won't be retried.
What do I do when I see “Couldn't share”?

A card at the top of Week, Tasks and Activity lists the change.

  • If your partner deleted the item, tap Add it back to share your version again.
  • Otherwise, tap Copy text to keep the details, then Discard, and add the item again if you still need it.
Can I sign out with changes that aren't shared?

Nest Days warns you first. Signing out deletes unshared changes from your phone, so wait until you're back online.

Calendars and privacy

Can I see my iPhone calendars in Nest Days?

Yes. Go to Account → Calendars, tap Use my iPhone calendars, turn on Show in my week and pick your calendars. They show only on your phone.

What does “Share when I'm busy” send?

Busy times are part of Premium. Only the start and end times of busy events from the calendars you picked, for the next 30 days. Titles, places, notes, attendees and calendar names never leave your phone. All-day events and events marked free are never shared. Your partner sees a block labeled “Busy”.

How do I turn busy times on or off?

Go to Account → Calendars and switch Share when I'm busy. When you turn it off, your busy times are deleted from our server. Signing out or removing calendar access in iPhone Settings also turns it off.

Premium and billing

What does Premium include?

See when your partner is busy, the 3-day hourly view, Copy to Apple Calendar and full activity history.

Does one purchase cover both of us?

Yes. One subscription covers your whole household. Nest Days shows “Premium is on for both of you.”

How do I restore a purchase?

Go to Account → Premium and tap Restore purchases at the bottom of the screen.

How do I cancel or change my plan?

On your iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or tap Manage subscription in Account → Premium. See Apple's guide.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

What happens when Premium ends?

Nothing is deleted. Premium features hide until you subscribe again. Your partner's busy blocks show as paused.

Does leaving or deleting my account cancel Premium?

No. Cancel it in your Apple Account settings.

Notifications

When does Nest Days notify me?
  • Your partner asks you to take a task.
  • Your partner accepts or declines a task you asked them to take.
  • Your partner adds, changes, deletes or restores an event for today or tomorrow.
  • A reminder you set is due.

You never get a notification for your own changes, and Nest Days sends no marketing notifications.

I don't get notifications. What do I check?

Go to Account → Notifications. If notifications are off, tap Open Settings and turn on Allow Notifications for Nest Days. The activity feed still shows every change.

Your data

How do I export my data?

Go to Account → Export my data and tap Export. You get a calendar file (.ics) with your household's events and tasks, and a JSON file with everything Nest Days keeps for your household.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Account → Delete account. If you signed in with Apple, you sign in once more to confirm.

This deletes your account and sign-in methods. Your tasks go back to “Needs an owner”. Plans you shared stay with your partner. If you're the only one in the household, the household and its plans are deleted too. This can't be undone.

Leaving or removing

How do I leave a household?

Go to Account → Household → Leave household. Your tasks go back to needing an owner, your busy times are deleted, and your partner keeps the household and its plans. You stay signed in and can set up a new nest.

If you're the only one there, the household and its plans are deleted.

How do I remove my partner?

Go to Account → Household and tap Remove with your partner's name. They keep their account but lose access to the household's plans.

Can someone rejoin?

Yes. Send them a new invite code. They get their old color back.
